STRONG and STURDY: With a thick girth from top to bottom, this is a heavy duty trekking pole that's secure enough for tall people (who are often heavy, even if fit and firm), as well as overweight or bariatric obese people. FITS MOST ADULT HANDS: Great for average or large adult size hands. Someone with average size adults hands will be able to hold this below the top 20 inches, and one with large hands will appreciate the extra girth at the top 20''. COMFY HAND GRIP: All is sanded smooth and is very comfortable. In some places, there are diamonds on the side, and if that's where you want to hold the staff, the diamonds don't impede, but rather the indents are smooth bumps and make great finger grips and hand guides. The opposite side of the diamonds is flat and slightly curved and fits nicely in the palm. COOL CURVES: This is actually one of our more straight sticks, but it does have a few slightly accentuated curves, giving it great character and making it extra intriguing. Yet this stick stands straight for the most part (comes back to center, and isn't an arc or bow) and works great!

COVETED RAILS: Has a bit of the unique and fairly rare semi-railing effect, where the diamonds become one with the wood and twist and turn the wood due to spalding/spalting. RARE INSECT MARKINGS: Highly coveted, these markings are nature's way of drawing designs in the wood. They are more rare than diamonds themselves. Not only do they offer a unique, interesting design, but they are a marvelous display showing how efficient nature works, and add to the stick's character and value.

Don't worry, after many months of aging, and clear poly, I guarantee the worms or insects are long gone. DIAMONDS: has an abundance of more than 36 plus wooden diamonds of various hues of tan, luscious caramel, reddish brown and deep brown with gorgeous lines. ALSO, has a few particularly deep diamonds (although it's difficult to capture the many curves and forms in the photos). They're beautiful alone, and also perfect for embedding stones or charms into them, if you'd wish.

Diamond willow is strong wood and I make these earth journey sticks to last for many years! SUSTAINABLE: Not clear cut, but each is selectively hand picked by me as I harvest this diamond willow in northern Minnesota, USA. I take one or two out of a clump of trees, leaving the rest of the clump intact, with more nutrients and sunlight and room to grow.

ALL NATURAL: No stains or paints added. Some people'create' diamonds, but I don't ever do that. I've only added 5 coats of clear poly.

METICULOUSLY SANDED: Stripped of bark and lovingly sanded, often for several hours to help bring out nature's beautiful colors and designs. THOROUGHLY DRIED: Wood is dried for several months, often with a fan blowing on them in the summer, ensuring they're fully cured.
