Presented for your consideration is this beautiful antique walking stick. The shaft of the stick is wood while the handle is gold filled.
The handle has a gorgeous, intricately detailed floral pattern throughout and is engraved with a name on the top. Engraving appears to read John Craue New York City. " On the shaft, just below the handle, it is carved with the initials "G. Along with the date of 1793.
Unsure as to what name the initials stand for. On the opposite side of these initials are pictures of an ax and a knife. This is the only design work on the shaft. The rest of the oak shaft is plain with a bakelite tip on the end.
The stick is sturdy and secure. This beautiful walking stick would make a great addition to any walking stick or cane collection! There is some cracking along the bottom tip.
A hairline crack is near the top on one side of the shaft. No dents or dings in the gold filled area. Typical light wear from age and use. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
Measures 34 5/8" long, 1 3/8" in diameter at the handle and 1 in diameter at the widest point of the shaft.
