Blackthorn has been used for centuries as a material for premium walking sticks. The most well-known incarnation of the classic Blackthorn stick was the Irish Shillelagh. The shillelagh stick has a long history of traditional use in Ireland as a walking aid and a weapon. Blackthorn is also known to have a sinister reputation and often represents the dark side of witchcraft and magick.
